GoAnimate
GoAnimate Created by Loretta Brackett on March 25, 2016.
GoAnimate is an easy, simple do-it-yourself tool that promotes technological learning by allowing educators and students to make professional-like videos. Educators, businesses, students, or anyone in general can use this video maker to produce videos for any reason. GoAnimate is a cloud-based video-making platform so you can use it anytime. GoAnimate requires a subscription upon registration. You can try it free for 14 days, but then you can select to be charged monthly or yearly. There are discounts available for students and teachers when using a school email address at the time of registration. GoAnimate makes it easy for its users to create videos for educational reasons, to promote businesses, or for plain old fun. Educators will find this product valuable in many areas of the curriculum. Educators can use it to help teach lessons or review lesson concepts. Educators can present lessons in an innovated way that captures the class’ attention to help empower learning in the classroom. GoAnimate can be used for individual student projects or group projects. It allows students to make more than just a power point to present to their classmates. Students can use GoAnimate to make entertaining videos with slides to present various learning outcomes and then present their findings to the class in an innovated, audience capturing way. This keeps the attention of their classmates allowing for the teacher to assess actual learning and farther educate other students in the class on concepts being presented.
GoAnimate has a flexible workflow with five main areas to work with including scripting and storyboarding, voice recording, visual excitement, audio sweetening, and publishing. Scripting and storyboarding helps you to create a video according to your objective to tell a story. It allows you to be as creative as you would like to be. You can add voice recording by importing audio files, using professional actors’ voices, or recording your own voice. It will lip sync automatically. GoAnimate has templates that help you to get characters moving around using thousands of characters, backgrounds, and props. The menus are all WYSIWYG. After you make your characters, backgrounds, and props, you can add audio for talking or music. It allows you to adjust the volume and timing. Finally, you can publish your video for others to see. These videos are great for educators to teach lessons, businesses to promote their business, students to engage in project-based learning, or just for fun!
I hope you're ready to get started!

Ways for Teachers to use it in their Classrooms
According to GOAnimate at https://goanimate4schools.com/, you can make videos for a wide range of uses such as the ones listed below:
Ways I plan to use it in my Classroom
I plan to use GoAnimate for many of the uses listed above. My favorites are the flipped classroom for students that have technology available at home, having students create lessons and videos in class and then presenting their findings, and using GoAnimate to pre-record difficult lessons for students to be able to review concepts during center time while I work with other students!

According to GOAnimate at https://goanimate4schools.com/, you can make videos for a wide range of uses such as the ones listed below:
- Flip Your Classroom By Sending Home Videos
- In a flipped classroom, students learn through online instruction outside of class; “homework” is done in the classroom. Students are much more likely to watch or create a video at home than they are to read a textbook or write a paper.
- Introduce Topics and Lessons
- Teach new and difficult topics with video. Use animation to simplify complex ideas. Illustrate word problems.
- Create Presentations
- Use video at open houses, back-to-school nights, assemblies, staff meetings, and other events.
- Create Reports and Stories
- Have students make reports, presentations, and stories with video, helping them convey their creativity and perspectives without physically placing them in front of peers.
- Check for Understanding
- Teachers can “check for understanding” with video assignments.
- Engage Special Needs Students
- Students on the Autism spectrum find animated videos to be a great way to communicate and share their feelings.
- Practice Language Skills
- Practice grammar, spelling, foreign languages, and sentence structure with our text-to-speech technology. Great for language learners!
- Produce PSAs
- Students can create videos on respect, bullying, and a variety of other topics.
- Engage Higher-Order Learning Skills
- Adapting material to video requires both critical thinking AND creativity. Students are enthusiastic about making videos. They think it is fun. This also leads to deeper understanding and learning.
